Politicians and large distances between talk and action

I remember the electoral campaing for presidential elections in Iran. In that time all of them were talking about the extra money of oil will be given to people and . . .
The elected president; ahmadinejad; was talking about real fight with financial corruption and enhancing the life quality and financial situation in Iran. As far as I know still Iranian justice service is just talking and not acting in fight with corruption. Even they are reluctant to give the name of some people who have been corrupted!!!
After being president, his remarks on Israel has put the stock market in a really bad situation. An engineer friend of mine; who works in Iran; told me that the projects have been halted:-(
The last and funny one is that he has banned western music in Iranian TV and radio (read the report) !!!!
Well, as a conclusion I can say, when somebody has no plan for boosting the economy, it is easy for him to say some crazy things and destroy the economy!! Poor people:-(

First Phd presentation. That was great:)

I had my first PhD meeting yesterday, and It was quite challenging for me, as it was my first public presentation in english.

I prepared the presentation file and revised it with my advisor. I wnet to the seminar room the day before and practiced a bit and checked the compatibility of the hardwares. I presented for nice friend of mine, and got some advice for improvement.

I was second in the row to present. I came early in the morning and the first presenting guy was there.
"Damn! his system is apple and I have never used it, so I have to use my own laptop." I turned my laptop on, and set it in standby condition to be ready. His presentation finished on time and it was my turn. I went there and tried to connect the projector. Shit! the cmputer is not comming out of standby mode, and I am really nervous. Oh my God! once the computer gets ok, and the projector as well, Great!! and I am starting my presentation!

Maan! it was really great presentation! I answered all the questions of the audience and surprised the experts with some results:-) after finishing the presentation my advisor told me, "that was great!"
so I am planning for an internationa conference in France. Hope that will be great as well:-)
